Learning Strategy Overview
- Core Principle: Test-first learning with spaced repetition
- System: Leitner inspired box rotation
| Box | Status | Score Range | Review Interval |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 🔴 Retake | <60% | Every 3 days |
| 2 | 🟠Validate | 60–84% | Every 7 days |
| 3 | 🔵 Maintenance | 85–89% | Every 2 weeks |
| 4 | 🟢 Mastered | 90%+ x2 | Every 4 weeks |
- Review Rule: Until the next full quiz attempt, error-only reviews repeat at the box’s interval.
- Attempt Count: Only full quiz attempts increment the attempt count.
- Daily Commitment: 1 hour coding + 1 hour quizzing (14 hours/week)
- Mastery Threshold: 90% quiz score to advance
The system works if you trust the process. Focus on one quiz at a time, respect the spacing intervals, and let spaced repetition do the heavy lifting.
Anti-Patterns to Avoid
- Don’t re-read notes before quizzes
- Don’t retake too soon — Wait 2+ days for spaced repetition benefits
- Don’t aim for 100% — 90% mastery is enough to move forward
- Don’t skip retakes — The second attempt is where real learning happens
- Don’t overload with new topics while backlog piles up — Finish one unit before interleaving with another topic
- Don’t batch reviews — Spaced practice beats cramming
- Don’t ignore Box 3/4 — Maintenance prevents forgetting
